:SCO Opens Source Code for Older UNIX
SCO Opens Source Code for Older UNIX

By Tom Adelstein

Santa Cruz Operations often referred to as "SCO" but known internally as "S-C-O" has made a number of straight UNIX source codes available to the public. The source code for:

Mini UNIX
UNIX V6
PWB UNIX
UNIX V7 (which also covers Editions 1-5, and the 32V)

SCO feels that opening the source code of these operating systems will "permit hobbyists and enthusiasts to have access to the source code of these historic releases, for personal and non-commercial use, and to share experiences and code updates with other authorized individuals having corresponding licenses."

If you think like me, you might want to hit their page by clicking here. I know many Open Source enthusiasts who have wanted to get their hands on this code for a couple of decades.
